As a security guard, you are more likely to be the first responder to accidents, incidents, and emergency situations. Your preparedness may mean the difference between life and death.  

This first responder medical class will give you the tools and confidence to perform the necessary life-saving steps during what could be the most stressful event you may ever face. You do not need prior medical knowledge to take this course. Class will include both classroom discussion and hands on practical exercises. 

 

TOPICS COVERED:

• Personal and legal liability 

• Scene and Patient assessment 

• Building an Individual Stop the Bleed Kit

• Identifying various types of bleeds and how to manage them 

• Proper types of tourniquets 

• Proper application of a tourniquet 

• Treating life-threatening hemorrhage where a tourniquet would not work effectively 

• Hands on application of dressing/packing wounds

• Refresher on CPR, Seizure safety, and Heimlich (Not a CPR certification)
