Impact Weapon
(Baton/ Nightstick)

This is a basic certification class for Security Officer certification and for private citizens to be able to carry a Baton/Night Stick in Tennessee.

Handcuffing
Subject Control and Proper Search Tactics

This is a basic restraint/control device class. Although Tennessee does not require training for Security Officers with restraint devices at this time, required training or certification in the proper use of restraint/control devices is a must for each and every security officer who may have the occasion to use restraining/control devices to protect the Officer and the Officers company from civil action. It is more to using cuffs than to just pop them on a person.

This is a basic certification class for Security Officers in Tennessee.

  • The best sprays and spray patterns to use and why
  • The best types of sprays for inside use such as hospitals, offices and critical areas
  • Use of force considerations and legal considerations in the use of sprays
  • Why sprays used by Law-enforcement may not be the best
  • Proper and safe use of defensive sprays
  • Effects of sprays and how and why it works or does not work
  • Why the user/carrier should experience exposure to sprays
  • Proper self decontamination and decontamination of suspect
  • Recognizing possible medical problems with sprays
  • Proper documentation of use of force 
  • Sudden In Custody Death Syndrome and Defensive spray use 
  • Recognizing Excited Delirium and how to handle it
